MRS. ANNA NELSON

Anna Nelson was born in Kvinherrad, Norway, July 10, 1850, and died July 6th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T. J. Thompson, in Story City, at the age of 93 years, 11 months and 27 days.

She was married to Ole Nelson in June 1877, at the Olve church in Norway, where she was baptized and confirmed. To this union four children were born, all preceding their mother in death except Mrs. T. J. Thompson of Story City.

In 1884 the family immigrated to this country, living in the Gilbert community until they established a home in Story City where they lived for about ten years.

Leaving Story City they lived in Kossuth county, Iowa, St. James, Minn., and Thief River Falls, Minn. where her husband died in January 1928. Since July 1929, she has made her home with her daughter in Story City.

Thruout her long life she enjoyed good health until the past year, having become bedfast in September and gradually growing weaker. She retained all of her faculties until the end, which was remarkable for one her age.

There are 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, besides her daughter, Mrs. T. J. Thompson, to mourn her loss.

Funeral services were held in the St. Petri Lutheran church, with Rev. P. Buland in charge. Mrs. Lester Henderson sang "Den store hvide flok." Casket bearers were Clarence Thompson, Theodore Thompson, Alvin Thompson, Arnold Haugland, Arthur Anderson and Leonard Hermanson. Interment was in the Fairview cemetery.

Those from a distance at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Anderson and daughter Ethel of Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. A. Thompson and daughters and Mr. and Mrs. George Abbots and son of Kanawha.
