Richard B. Larson

Richard B. Larson, 64, of Jewell and formerly of Story City died June 18, 2005 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. Burial will be in the Story City Cemetery. Visitation will be after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Richard Larson was born June 12, 1941 in Story City to Lorene and Chester (Sansgaard) Larson. He was a graduate of Story City High School and was retired from Iowa State University. He lived all his life in Story City and had been a member of the National Guard and the Story City American Legion. Richard enjoyed fishing and college and professional sports. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in rural Jewell.

Survivors include his mother, Lorene Larson of Story City; a brother, Vernon (Ernine) of Burbank, California; a sister, Carol Shafer (Roy) of Indianola, Iowa; two nieces; one nephew, and his companion, LaDena Bishop of Jewell.

He was preceded in death by his father, Chester; and a nephew, Chad Larson.

Memorials may be made to Riverside Bible Camp.
