Theodore Bernhard Jacobson

Theodore Bernhard Jacobson, 84, of 712 Walnut, Story City, a life long resident of Story County, died Tuesday, February 24, 1976 of a heart attack at his home.

Services were held Friday, February 27, at 1:30 p.m. 1976 from St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City. The Rev. Rolfe S. Johnstad was in charge. Mrs. Robert Hermanson was the soloist with Mrs. Warren Johnson at the organ. Interment was at the Story City Municipal Cemetery.

Mr. Jacobson was born to Jacob H. and Sarah (Olson) Jacobson in Story County on April 14, 1892. He was confirmed at South St. Petri in 1906 by the Rev. O. P. Vangness. He was married on April 20, 1916 to Agnes Olena Ersland at his home, by the Rev. G. O. Paulsrud. To this union were born a son, Joel Theodore; one daughter, Maxine Ann.

Mr, Jacobson was graduated from the Story City High School. He farmed in the Gilbert and Story City areas until his retirement in 1964 when he moved to Story City.

He is survived by a son-in-law, William E. Dodds of Route #1, Ames, Iowa; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Joel (Eva) Jacobson of Route #2, Story City; four grandchildren, Mrs. Lynn McGonigal, Story City, Mrs. Denise Tyler of Ames, Steven A. Jacobson, Story City, Bruce L. Dodds, Charles City, Iowa; three great grandchildren, Michael McGonigal and Amy and Malinda Tyler. Also surviving are three sisters-in-law, in Story City, Mrs. L. O. (Nellie) Jacobson, Mrs. Ole A. (Josie) Jacobson, Mrs. Wm. Jacobson (Amanda).

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; his son, Joel; and his daughter, Maxine Dodds, also brothers, Lars O., George, Ole A., William; two sisters, Minnie Jacobson and Annie Askelson.

Pall bearers were Les Jacobson, Jonal Jacobson, Richard Jacobson, Irving Wierson, Emery Tegland and Don Munsen.
