Marion L. Bergeson

Mrs. C. M. (Marion L.) Bergeson, 81, Story City, died Thursday, Dec 23, 1982 at the Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames.

Marion was born Sept. 18, 1901, at Sheboygan, Wisc. Her parents were Earl C. and Emma Burgess.

Marion was a graduate of St. Francis High School in Minnesota and the Minneapolis School of Music.

On July 31, 1926, she was married to Carl M. Bergeson. The Bergeson family came to Story City in 1945 from Minneapolis. Carl died June 9, 1971.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1982, at 10 a.m. from St. Petri Lutheran Church, Story City. The Rev. Rolfe Johnstad was in charge, assisted by Pastors Perry Sampson and Enoch Hall. Mrs. Paul Beckman was pianist; Mrs. Eva Jacobson was organist. Burial was at the Story City Cemetery. Casket bearers were Dan Thorsbakken, Craig Thorsbakken, Greg Gere, Bradley Fox, Quentin Toresdahl, Brian Fox, Brent Fox, Barry Fox and Boe Bergeson.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Harold (Leona) Thorsbakken, Milaca, Minn., Mrs. Sidney (Betty-Jane) Ayers, Circleville, Ohio, Mrs. Eugene (Ann-Marie) Gere, White Bear, Minn., and Mrs. Gary (Carolyn) Yost, Osceola, Wisc.; two sons, Don of Story City and James of Duluth, Minn.; 20 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, five step-grandchildren; one brother, Ralph D. Burgess, Minneapolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and step-mother.
