THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, November 22, 2005.
Kenneth L. Davison, 84, of Ames, died Sunday, Nov. 20, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames with Pastor John Anderson officiating. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 37. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.
Ken was born Oct. 13, 1921, in Deer Creek, Minn., to Floyd and Bertha (Voge) Davison. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and rose to the rank of chief petty officer. He married Gail Young June 28, 1946, in Peru, Ill. She preceded him in death. He married Lois Woolridge July 3, 1974, at Ascension Lutheran Church in Ames, of which he was a member. He also was a member of American Legion Post 37 and the Elks. He farmed in central Illinois for 18 years and was employed by Sundstrand until his retirement in 1983. He enjoyed woodworking and trailering.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Davison of Ames; three daughters, Nancy Lee and Peggy Glider, both of Tucson, Ariz., and Janet Johnson of George; two stepsons, Scott Olsen of Ames and Dr. Craig Olsen of Austin, Texas; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers and sisters.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Ascension Lutheran Church.
