Harold Pallesen
March 22, 1911, to Sept. 24, 2000

Harold Emanuel Pallesen, 89, of Webster City and formerly of Nevada, died of cancer Sunday, Sept. 24, at Southfield Care Center in Webster City.

He was born March22, 1911, in Adair to Peter Nels and Johanna (Jensen) Pallesen. He grew up in the Adair area. He married Darlene Carroll in Webster City. They owned and operated a summer resort in Pequot Lakes, Minn. They came to Jewell and Harold worked at the Farmers Cooperative Elevator in Ellsworth until he retired in 1970. They moved to Nevada where they lived for the past 30 years. This summer they had moved to Webster City. Harold enjoyed his garden, raising flowers and working in his wood shop.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene of Webster City; a daughter, Marilynn "Lynn" (and Jerry) Cayler of Galt; a daughter-in-law, Helen Pallesen of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

His parents; his son, Michael Ray in June of 1998' a sister, Minnie Norgaard; and a brother, Raymond preceded him in death.

Memorial services were held Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Becker Funeral Home in Jewell with Pastor John Grebner officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell. Memorials may be directed to Hamilton County Hospice. Becker Funeral Home in Jewell handled arrangements.
