OBITUARY
Andrew, the son of Gunild and Knut (Halvorsen) Knutson, was born in Howard township on November 25, 1870 and passed away January 27, 1942 at 2 o'clock A. M., at the age of 71 years, 2 months and 2 days. He spent his entire life in this community and for the last twenty-five years has resided on his farm which is one mile from the Knutson Homestead which was his birthplace.
Two and a half years ago he submitted to an operation and from that time has been failing gradually. On Thursday he suffered a heart attack and Saturday night he became seriously ill with pneumonia.
He was a quiet, lovable person making many friends as he journeyed through life greeting everyone with a friendly smile. He was baptized and confirmed in the St. Petri church in early childhood of which he remained a member.
He was ever faithful to the principles of the Church and willingly he cast his lot in the hands of the Savior.
He leaves to mourn his death 5 brothers, Halver, Knute, Ole, Nels and Julius and a sister, Mary Doolittle, all of Story City, besides two nieces and three nephews, also many other relatives and countless friends. He will be greatly missed in this community.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 29, at the home at 1:30 and from the St. Petri church at 2:00 with Rev. Nelson officiating. Interment was made at the Fairview cemetery. The casket bearers were Lester Doolittle, Martin Jacobs, Rhiner Hondred, John A. Johnson, Howard Sheldahl and Louis Alsager.
A precious one from us has gone
A voice we loved is stilled
A place is vacant in our throng
That never can be filled.
