Funeral Services This Afternoon for Mrs. Dora Bahr

Colo, April 9 -- Funeral rites are being held at the Calvary Evangelical church here this afternoon for Mrs. Dora Bahr, in charge of her pastor, Rev. Keith Orr, assisted by Rev. H. H. Proett of the Methodist church.

Mrs. Bahr, a native of Schleswig, Germany, died at the home of her son Harry Maier, here Monday.

Dorothea Fintzen, daughter of Claude and Dorothea Fintzen, was born Nov. 10, 1854, at Schleswig, Germany, and died April 7, 1941.

She was one of seven children and the last surviving member of her family. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith when a young girl. She came from Germany to the home of a brother in Wisconsin in 1872 and two years later was married to Anton Maier in Sycamore, Ill., in 1874, and the family moved to Iowa in 1884. To this union seven children were born, two having preceded her in death. Those surviving are Mrs. Dora Blakely of Marshalltown, Mrs. Rose Danzkin of Colo and Mrs. Marie Watkins and Mrs. Carrie Moritz, both of Olds, Alberta, Canada, and Harry Maier of Colo with whom she made her home. She has 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, who also survive her. Mr. Maier died in 1900.

In 1908 she married Fred Bahr, who passed away two years later. She had long been a member of the Calvary Evangelical church, where she attended as long as she was able.
