Mrs. Jos. H. Twedt Dies Last Evening at Home Near Roland
Special to the Journal:
Roland, Feb. 12--Mrs. Jos. H. Twedt, 63, lifelong resident of this part of the county, died at her home northeast of Roland Sunday evening. While she had been in failing health for some time, her condition did not become critical until a few hours before her death, which came as a shock to the community.Mrs. Twedt, whose maiden name was Bertha Pearson, was born near Story City April 30, 1876. Married to Jos. H. Twedt, a local man, they settled on the farm northeast of town and that had been their home during their entire married life.
Besides her husband she leaves three daughters, Mrs. Jesse Quam of Roland, and Ruth and Mamie at home, and sons, Howard and Otis of Roland, Joseph of near Ames, and Merrill and Otto at home. Two daughters have passed away.
Funeral services for Mrs. Twedt will be held Thursday, with prayer at the home at 1:30 and the funeral at Bergen church at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in the Roland cemetery.
