OBITUARY

HANS L. HANSON

Hans L. Hanson, the son of John and Anna Hanson, was born at Leite, Uskedal, Norway, January 1, 1863. He died at his home southwest of Story City March 28 at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 28 days.

His early childhood was spent in Norway. At the age of nine he came to America, coming directly to Gilbert, near where he has lived since.

At the age of 14 years he was confirmed in the St. Petri church by Rev. Jacobson and he has considered himself a member there since.

Sept. 22, 1892, he was married to marriage to Isabelle Marie Anderson.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Eddie and Eugene, of Story City; four daughters, Mrs. Lester Johnson of Gilbert, Eva Hiel of Sioux City, Mrs. Noble Partlow of Story City, and Mrs. Earl Warren of Ames; three brother, Martin of Des Moines, Lars and Brint of Gilbert; three sisters, Mrs. Nels Jacobson of Story City, Mrs. Peter Wierson of Williston, N. D., and Mrs. Edw. Bush of Northfield; and five great grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. J. S. Johnson and Christie Hanson, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Monday; at 1:30 at the home and 2 o'clock in the St. Petri church, with Rev. Nelson officiating. Mrs. Lester Henderson sang as a solo, "Behold a Host Arrayed in White." Memorial gifts for Missions and Norwegian relief amounted to $37.40. Interment was made in South St. Petri cemetery.

The pallbearers were: Neil Jacobson, Clifford Hanson, Edward, Abe and Severin Anderson, and Bert Hill.

Spangler and Mr. and Mrs. Hans Larson, all of Eagle Grove; Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Anderson of Clarion, Martin Hanson of Des Moines; Mrs. N. L. Larson of Clear Lake.
