NEVADA - Helen Arlene Blesie, 91, of Nevada, died Saturday, October 29, 2005 at Story County Medical Center in Nevada.

Helen was born May 26, 1914 in Garden City, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Anna Anderson Iverson. Helen was united in marriage to Herman C. Sorensen in 1940. Herman died in 1979. She later married Dudley Blesie in 1983. Dudley died in 1992. She was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church and the Ruth Circle. Helen was a homemaker who loved to bake and have 3 o'clock coffee. She enjoyed her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Janet and John Schneider of Woodridge, Illinois; 2 grandsons: Steve and Kristin Schneider of Aurora, IL and their children, Alec Schneider, Brendan Schneider, Conor Schneider, Nick Niemi and Alexandra Niemi; and Mark Schneider of Woodridge, IL. Helen is also survived by her stepdaughter and stepson in law: Willa and David Holger of Ames, IA, and 2 step granddaughters: Elsbeth Holger of Minneapolis, MN, and Katherine Holger of Iowa City, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Funeral services were Wednesday at the Memorial Lutheran Church with Pastor David Burling officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Visitation with the family was held Tuesday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. A Prayer Service followed at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Memorial Lutheran Church.

The Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory is handling arrangements.
