MRS. GURENA LARSON-ERICSON DEAD.

The Wife of E. L. Ericson in Colorado of Consumption.

Mr. E. L. Ericson received a message, Monday, bringing to him the sad intelligence of the death of his wife which occurred that morning at Denver, Colorado. Mrs. Ericson went west with her husband left her husband early in the fall in the hope of benefitting her health. Her husband left her in a few weeds and returned to Story City, feeling assured that a short time more in that country would restore his compostion to health again. Even as late as Saturday he received word announcing that she was steadily improving. But alas! for human expectations. The final message came at noon, Monday and Mr. Ericson left on the evening train to bring the remains of his beloved one to Story City for burial. He arrived on the early train this morning, and funeral services will be held in the Lutheran church at one o'clock this afternoon. Thus consumption has claimed another victim, another home has been made desolate and four bright little children have been left motherless in this cold, unfeeling world.

The death of Mrs. Ericson was particularly sad inasmuch as it occurred so far from home, in a strange land and among strangers.

Gurena Larson-Ericson was born at Story City, September 14, 1868, and died at Denver, Colorado, December 7, 1896, aged 28 years, 2 months and 23 days. On May 19, 1888, she was married to E. L. Ericson. Five children were born to this union, one girl died July 3, 1896, leaving a husband and four little children to mourn the loss of a wife and mother. The bereaved husband and children, mother, brothers and sister certainly have the deepest sympathy of the entire community in this sad news.
