OBITUARY

MRS. F. A. FULLER

Louisa Adeline Blue, the second child of John William and Ellen Blue, was born in Keokuk county, Iowa, on the 15th day of August, 1870. After sojourning on earth for 68 years, 7 months and 12 days, she passed on to receive her eternal reward Monday morning, March 27, 1939. Since she had been in her usual health condition, her passing was a great shock to the people of the community as well as to the immediate family. On Sunday she was present at the morning church service, joining in the worship in the sanctuary in her usual manner and on Monday morning she attended to her household duties as was her custom. After completing her task that morning she lay down for a while to rest, when she fell asleep from which sleep she did not awaken. "She was not, for God took her." Thus her place in the home is now vacant, as well as her place in the church and in the community.

While still very young she, with her parents, moved to Appanoose county, Iowa, where the family resided for a few years. When she was seven years of age they came to Story county and located in the vicinity of Story City in 1877.

Here she grew to womanhood and on July 3, 1877, she was married to Freeman A. Fuller. After their marriage they lived on a farm for one year and then came into Story City, where they have made their home down thru the years. It was their great privilege to share joys and sorrows in a happy married life for over a half century, for it was in 1937 that they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. To them were given two children to gladden their home.

Thru her genial disposition and her optimism she won for herself many warm friends. Her influence was most wholesome. She was not only a devoted wife and companion to her husband and a kind mother to her children, but she also manifested a keen interest in the welfare of her neighbors and friends whom she contacted in her life's activities. Her deeds of love and kindness were numerous, and this made her a large place in the hearts of the community.

She united with Grace Evangelical church of Story City in 1916 and she remained a devoted and faithful member until the time of her passing. She was active as a Christian because her religious faith was translated into actions which made their impact upon the lived of others as she manifested a splendid interest in the work of the Kingdom of God. She was a regular attendant at the Sabbath worship services and in the Sunday school as well. She also served as the faithful and efficient treasurer of the Ladies' Aid society for 19 years. She now leaves this splendid heritage to those who come after her.

She is survived by her sorrowing husband; her two children, Cora Hazel (Mrs. E. C. Frandson) of Santa Ana, Cal., and Ray of Red Oak; one sister, Mrs. Mary Stringer of Iowa Falls, and four grandchildren, besides other relatives and a large circle of friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon in Grace church, with Rev. Bergeman officiating, assisted by Rev. Wendel. The singing was by a mixed quartet consisting of Marilyn and Elaine James, Arnold Anderson and George Sowers, with Vernon Anderson at the organ.

The pallbearers were George Templer, Nels P. Larson, Albert, Theorore and Arthur Frandson, and Jay Born. Interment was made in Fairview cemetery.

Among those from a distance at the funeral were Mrs. A. D. Sauer and Mrs. Anna Paulson of Ames, Mrs. John Voorhees of Archer, Mrs. Mary Springer and daughter Lela of Iowa Falls; Ray Fuller came here from Red Oak and remained until after the funeral.

{There is a partial sentence in the obituary which is a line from Card of Thanks.]

Dr. and Mrs. Ed Frandsen arrived from Santa Ana, Cal., Wednesday night to be at the funeral. They will likely remain here for a month.
