SIVERT NORDSKOG

Severt Nordskog entered into rest Sunday, October 30, 2:30 p. m. at his home at 3652 3rd ave in Los Angeles.

Sivert Nordskog, a pioneer merchant of Story City, was born June 12, 1859 on the farm Nordskog north of Haugesund, Norway. He and his wife (who preceded him in death just 20 months ago) were baptized, confirmed and married in the Svea Kirke by the Rev. Ulrick Kern.

They left Norway on May 17, 1880 for the United States of America and came to Sheldahl, Iowa where they lived until '81, when they moved to Story City, Iowa, and with the exception of four years spent in Eagle Grove, Iowa, lived until 1912, when they with their family moved to Los Angeles, Calif.

Surviving are nine children: Mrs. C. Albert Barber, Mrs. Ove M. Elvedal, Mrs. J. Edgar Myers, Andre B. Nordskog of Los Angeles, Leonard Nordskog, Alhambra, Cal., Mrs. James J. Alexander, Fullerton, Cal., Mrs. George W. Salisbury, Anaheim, Cal., and S. B. Nordskog, Cedar Falls, Iowa. Fourteen grand children and four great grand children.
