OBITUARIES
T. K. HENDERSON
Tollef K. Henderson was born October 4, 1884 on a farm near Etne, Norway, and departed this live at Story City on October 20, 1938.
He was the third child of Knoll and Gjertrud Kallestadbakken. He grew to manhood in his native land and came to Story City in July 1900, where he spent practically all of the remainder of his life.
For the first few years he was engaged in various kinds of work, mainly electrical, and operated an electric shop, for a short time, and assisted at the local Light Plant. Upon being appointed superintendent of Light and Water Departments, he disposed of his business and continued in his later position until called by death. For nearly 30 years he attended to the duties of the Town's Utilities and contributed much to the present success of both departments. In addition to this, he was for many years a member of the local volunteer Fire Department.
On July 27 1904, he was united in marriage to Carrie Thorson. To this union were born three children, namely, Gladys, Guerean and Kermit. Kermit preceded his father in death due to an accident on June 29, 1925. His father also died 20 years ago and three on his sisters passed away in Norway.
He leaves to mourn his death besides his beloved wife and companion, two daughters, and tow grandchildren, his aged mother and two sisters and one brother, Osmond, all living in Norway, as well as one sister, Mrs. Nels Thorson of Butterfield, Minn., and four brothers, Henry and Ingvald of Kenyon, Minn., Eric of St. James, Minn., and Harry of Story City as well as a host of relatives and close friends.
He was baptized in infancy and confirmed in the Lutheran church at the age of 15. Shortly after his arrival in America, he joined the Immanuel Lutheran church of this place to which he ever remained a true and faithful member. He was well thought of and highly respected by all.
Many floral tributes were given in his memory as well as donations from various friends and organizations to missions, amounting to $52.50 in all.
The funeral service was held in the Immanuel church on Friday, October 23, 1936 with Rev. T. T. Heimarck, his pastor, officiating. A large number of friends, both local and out-of-town were present to pay their last respects to this man.

We desire to express our thanks to the many friends and neighbors for helpful sympathy shown us during the illness, death and burial of our beloved husband and father; especially would we thank Rev. Heimarck for his ministrations, the choir for their part in the funeral rites, and to those who contributed so generously to floral tributes and the mission donations.
