CLARENCE THOMPSON
Clarence Thompson was born on the Thompson farm southeast of Story City Oct. 14, 1901. He was thus at the time of his death 34 years, 2 months and 20 days old. He was the youngest of the children of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Thompson. His parents are both dead, and he is survived by one sister and two brothers, namely, Mrs. Nels Mathiason and Sophus Thompson of Story City, and Theo. E. Thompson of Popejoy; also by 3 nieces and 2 nephews, besides a large number of other relatives and friends.
A lover of adventure, he spent eight years in traveling in the west. For a time he had an interest in a cafe in Burns, Oregon. The rest of his life was spent in and around Story City. He moved last spring to his farm near Albion. This farm is operated by Charlies Christianson.
He died suddenly at Marshalltown Friday, Jan. 3. The body was brought here and the funeral was held Monday afternoon from the home of his sister and at Grace church, conducted by Rev. Bergeman. Interment was made in Fairview cemetery.
