Alice Josephine Olson was born in Chicago, Dec. 25, 1864 and died in Story City April 25, 1931, at the age of 66 years, 5 months. Her parents were Frederick and Laura Olson.
When she was three years old her family moved to Leland, Ill., and in 1882 came to Story City, locating on the farm northwest of town, which was their home until 1919, when she and her mother and sisters moved to the present home on East street.
She is survived by four sisters and one brother, namely, Lyda, Josie and Mrs. Esther Owenson of this place, Mrs. Bertha Jackson of Aurora, Ill., and Francis Olson of Vik, Norway.
Quiet and home loving she had been all her life, those who came to know her loved her for her qualities of genuineness, and translated into a new and fuller life.
