Cora Overland-Crissman

Mrs. Cora Overland Crisman [sic] was born in Hamilton county, Iowa, October 28, 1893, and passed to her reward Friday, January 24, 1918, aged 25 years, 2 months and 26 days.

Her early life was spent in Story City, where her father died when she was nine years of age. She was confirmed in 1908 in the Immanuel church by Rev. Heimarck. She was an earnest worker in all branches of church work and all who knew her were impressed by her devout Christian womanhood.

She attended the public schools of Story City, graduating with honors with the class of '14.

Cora Overland was united in marriage February 15, 1917, to Harold W. Crissman of Ames, Ia. They made their home in West Bend for a time, moving onto a from near there in the spring of 1918. To this union one child was born, Beatrice Jeanette. The husband and baby girl, the mother, two brothers, Selid and Emil, one sister, Luddie, two foster brothers (John and Clarence) and two foster sisters (Helen and Anne Johnson), besides a great host of other relatives and friends are left to mourn the departure of their loved ones.

The greatest tribute we can pay to our dearly beloved Cora is in the knowledge that by righteous and upright living we may be assured of seeing her in that bright and happy land beyond.
