OBITUARY
Peter John Peterson was born near Holstein, Ida county, Iowa, December 1, 1887, and passed from this earth Sunday morning at 7:45, November 10, 1918m at the home of his parents near Gilbert.
The early years of his life were spent near Holstein. Later the family moved to Ames, Ia., where they lived ten years. They then moved on a farm near Gilbert where Peter became well educated in agricultural work and prove himself to be successful in that line.
He was characterized by a quiet unassuming disposition, but withal a kind spirit and marked willingness to be helpful to others. He was a patient sufferer for the past year, never complaining and always hopeful of regaining his health, but all that medical aid and loving hands could do for him proved of no avail.
He was baptized at his birthplace by Rev. Shuberg, and confirmed by Rev. T. T. Heimarck in the South St. Petri church, Story City, Ia., where he was a member.
He was the first child of Lars and Julia Peterson. A little infant brother preceded him to home beyond. There remains to mourn his early departure from life: his father, mother, two sisters, Letta and Fern, and brother Edward at home, his brother Lewis is of Welcome, Minn., and brother James of Ormsby, Minn., now in the United States training camp Hancock, Ga., together with a host of other relatives and friends.
He was a sincere Christian man, earnest and faithful, and by his life exemplified the teachings of his Master, Jesus Christ.
