SAM IVERSON PASSED AWAY

DEATH CALLS HIM TO BETTER LAND LAST SUNDAY MORNING

Sam J. Iverson died Sunday at the home of his wife's parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. Amlund. He and his family came here from Watson, S. D., about three months ago with the intention of making their home here for the coming winter at least. Mr. Iverson had been in poor health for several years. He had been living on a homestead on which he proved up shortly before coming here. The first two months oaf their stay here Mr. Iverson seemed to improve but towards the end he became gradually weaker in spite of the good care which was given him, and he passed to the great beyond on Sunday morning.

The deceased came to this country from Norway, Europe, at an early age. For several years he lived in Illinois but later came to Story City where he made his home with his cousin, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Grotness. During his stay here he married Martha Amlund, the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Amlund. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Effington, S. D., and later to Watson. One daughter, Elsie, preceded him to the better land. He leaves a wife and little girl, Alva, besides two brothers and a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn his departure. The bereaved family have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community. The funeral services took place yesterday afternoon at two o'clock from the Immanuel church.
