DIED IN MINNESOTA

Relatives at this place received word last Saturday, that John O. Johnson, a former resident of this community, had passed away at his home in Bimedji, Minn. The body has been brought here and funeral services will be conducted from the M. O. Ferkin residence at 1:30 o'clock and from Bergen Lutheran church at 2:00 o'clock tomorrow (Friday) afternoon.

John Olaus Johnson was born June 9, 1867 on a farm northeast of Roland. Here he lived until he reached manhood.

On December 26, 1893, he was united in marriage to Helen Larson in Wright county, Iowa. They lived in Story county several years, after which they moved to Hardin county and made their home on a farm there until a year ago when they moved to Bimidji, Minnesota for the sake of his health.

After being a sufferer of asthma for five years, he passed away January 17, 1925 at the age of 57 years, 7 months and 7 days.

He leaves to mourn his death, his wife and ten children, Tilden, Elmira, Lillian, Howard, Richard, Doris, Julia, Carl, Irene and Joseph; two of which are married, Lillian living in Galesburg, Illinois and Howard living in Roland. He leaves two sisters, Mrs. Caroline Ferkin and Mrs. M. O. Ferkin of Roland, and four brothers, Eli and Arnie of Roland, Gerhard of Fort Morgan, Colorado and Joseph of Story City.

JOHNSON FUNERAL FRIDAY

Funeral services for the late John O. Johnson, whose remains were brought here from Bimidje, Minn., last week, were held from Bergen church last Friday afternoon, Rev. M. O. Sumstad preaching the funeral sermon. Interment took place in the Roland cemetery.

Those from a distance at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Martin Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Olson, Ole, John and Arthur Olson of Kanawha, Eli Olson of Newark, Ill., Mrs. Jams A. Johnson of Joice, and Eli and Cornelius Johnson of Huxley.
