FORMER ROLAND RESIDENT DIED

Mrs. Henry Sheldahl, at one time a resident of Roland and well known to many here, died at her home in Ames on Friday, December 19 after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held on the following Sunday, Rev. Bueland officiating, assisted by Rev. Pearson of Ames and Rev. Duea of Slater. Miss Ella Maland of Slater, who is teaching here, sang at the funeral.

Deceased, whose maiden name was Belle Mason, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Mason and was born on the Mason homestead a mile south of Cambridge. She grew to womanhood in that vicinity and was married to Henry Sheldahl of near the Palestine church. They made their home at Rolannd for a while and later lived at Cambridge and Huxley, moving to Ames two years ago, where Mr. Sheldahl was employed at the college and where he is still working.

Deceased is mourned by a beloved husband and one son, Reuben, also two sisters, Mrs. Andrew Raynes of Ames and Mrs. Archie Peterson of Slater, and four brothers, Axel, Eli and Clarence of Cambridge and Gilbert Mason of Des Moines. Also a host of other relatives and friends.
