Obituary

Adelia Emerson was born April 30, 1851, at Aurora, Ill., and died at her home in Gilbert June 12, 1916, aged 65 years, 1 month and 12 days. With her parents she came to Iowa in 1868 and settled in Story county. She was united in marriage to Ally Morgan, Feb. 4, 1882. Mrs. Morgan has been in failing health and a great sufferer for some time, but she bore all without a murmur or complaint and when the end seemed to be approaching she expressed a desire that the boatman might soon appear to bear her over. Mrs. Morgan leaves, besides a husband and daughter to mourn her loss, six brothers, Lorenzo of Spirit Lake, George of Milford, Clinton of Cambridge, Myron of Oklahoma City, Okla., Ulyses of Scranton, Fred of Cambridge and a sister, Mrs. Charlotte Johnson of Nevada. Funeral services were held Wednesday June 14, at 10 a.m. in the Congregational church, Gilbert, Rev. Wissler, the pastor, officiating. Interment was at Polk City.
