Obituary of Mrs. Banks
Mrs. Lottie Marie Banks (nee Wegst) was born in Buena Vista county, Iowa, March 21, 1896, and died Dec. 13, 1924, age 28 years, 8 months and 12 days. She moved with her parents to Story county in 1901.
She united with the Evangelical church at Zenorsville at the age of 17. At the age of 21 she was united in marriage to Mr. Clarence LaVernon Banks, who departed this life in 1921. To this union were born two children, Edwin LaVern, age six, and Charles Alfred, age 4. She leaves to mourn her death the two sons, father, mother, two sisters, Mrs. Roy Adams of Napier, Iowa, and Daisy Wegst of Gilbert, and other relatives and a host of friends.
The funeral services were held Monday afternoon, from the Congregational church in Gilbert, conducted by Rev. C. S. Lang of the Zenorsville church, assisted by Rev. C. W. Davis of Gilbert. The music was furnished by a quartet composed of Rev. Davis, Mr. B. D. Kent, Mrs. C. Gilmore and Mrs. N. Askelson. The pall bearers were Messrs. O. A. Johnson, R. D. Tressler, S. B. Lee, C. Reed, S. Askelson and H. Longstaff. The floral offerings were beautiful. Burial was made in the Gilbert cemetery.
