OBITUARY
Mrs. Peter Knivsland
Mrs. Sofie Knivsland was born in Lister, Norway, April 3, 2849, and died in Story City Oct. 22, 1923, at the age of 74 years, 6 months, 19 days.
She was married in 1886 to Peder Knivsland. They moved to America in 1871. Ten children were born to her five of whom survive.
They lived on a farm in Clear Lake township, Hamilton county, most of the time, and moved to Story City in 1910.
She leaves to mourn her death her husband, Peder Knivsland, five children, Henry of Camano, Wash., Mrs. D. B. Olson of Story City, Mrs. C. J. Lackor of Story City, Mrs. C. E. Sheriff of Othello, Wash., and Bennie of Faribault, Minn., ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. S. C. Severson of Jewell and Mrs. John Brown of Eagle Grove, two brothers, Lewis and Harry Larson of Jewell and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held in the Bethel church Oct. 25, 1923, Rev. Paulsrud officiating.
The following were pall bearers: John Johnson, Edwin Olson, Adolph Molstre, T. T. Henryson, Oliver Alsager and D. S. Olson.
Mrs. Knivsland had been sick about a year, bearing her affliction with the Christian fortitude which had marked her life.
