She was married to Sivert Marvig Sept. 4, 1854, having come to America the same year. Very soon after they settled near Morris, Ill., where they resided until 1904 when they moved to Story City, coming here in time to celebrate their golden wedding.

In 1914 this aged couple celebrated their 60th anniversary and two years later on the 20th of June the husband was taken home.

Funeral services were held at the Immanuel church, of which the deceased was a member, on Friday afternoon, Dec. 28. Rev. Heimarck preached the funeral sermon, using for his text one of her favorite scripture passages, Rev. 2:17.

Rev. Anderson spoke in English on a passage which she had year ago selected as her funeral text, Isaiah 40:1-2, and Rev. Marvick spoke on behalf of the family.

Solos were sung by Mrs. Lester Henderson and Mrs. Lawrence Mathre and the audience sang the hymns which she had requested to be sung.

This pioneer lady was a true Christian and was ready and glad to go to meet her God.
