Obituary

CARRIE SCHNEIDER

Funeral services for Miss Carrie Schneider were held at the Schoeder funeral home in Boone Tuesday afternoon, June 16, at 2 o'clock, with Rev. Martin Seltz, pastor of Trinity Lutheran church officiating. The pallbearers were Michael Jordan, Leo Wirth, Edward Weinberg, Louis Blaess, Andrew Murken and Albert Doerder. Interment was in family plot in the Gilbert cemetery.*

Caroline Schneider was born June 13, 1873 at Marion, Iowa, the daughter of Conrad and Cathrine Dietz Schneider. Following the death of her mother, Carrie who was then 6 years old, came to Boone county to make her home with her uncle and aunt Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hanneman and lived with the Hanneman family in this locality until 1944 when with her cousin Chas. Hanneman, she then moved to Boone. A semi-invalid the last few years, she was a patient the last week of her life at the Boone hospital where she passed away June 13 on her 80th birthday. Surviving is one brother, George Schneider, Des Moines, one sister, Mrs. Mayme Stark of Cedar Rapids; two cousins, John and Charles Hanneman of Boone.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Carrie Schneider is buried with the Michael and Caroline Hanneman family who raised her. Carrie's mother, Cathrine (Dietz) Schneider, was a sister of Caroline (Dietz) Hanneman.
