OBITUARY OF RASMUS OLESON

Rasmus Oleson was born Jan. 14, 1843, at Stjernero, Norway, and died at his home in Story City, Ia., Feb. 7, 1926, at the ripe age of 83 years and 3 weeks. He had suffered very much from inflammatory rheumatism for about eight years and more recently was attacked by cancer. During all this time he was a patient sufferer and death came to him as a great relief from the burdens of this earthly life.

In June, 1878, he was married to Martha Karina Molde, and in 1886 he and his family immigrated to America. They settled on the little farm six miles south of Story City, near Soper's mill, where they lived for thirty years, or until they moved to Story City eight years ago.

Only one child was born to Mr. and Mrs. Oleson, namely Lewis, who resides here. The widow and son and 4 grandchildren survive to mourn his death. The deceased was the only child of Ole Oleson and Ragnhild Obe; his mother died when he was born; his father lived to be a hundred years old.

Funeral services were held in the St. Petri church Wednesday, Feb. 10, Rev. Andersen officiating. The pall bearers were Messrs. Edwin Olson, T. J. Quam, Osmund Vangness, T. K. Thompson, M. B. Larson and Henry Jacobs. The remains were laid to rest in Fairview cemetery.
