THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, October 12, 2005.

Elena K. Frette, 88, of Story City died Sunday, Oct. 9, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. Burial will be in Story City Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Immanuel Lutheran with family present after 6:30 p.m..

Elena Frette was born April 3, 1917, in rural Hamilton County near Story City to Ole S. and Gurine (Erickson) Olson. She graduated from Randall High School in 1934. She married Otis P. Frette Nov. 30, 1937. She was a homemaker and lifetime resident of Story City. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley (Harlan) Dubansky of Tucson, Ariz., and Charlene (Dave) Clayberg of Marcus; four sons, Edward (Rita) Frette of Story City, Rick (Shirley) Frette of Ames, Kenneth (Sue) Frette of Story City and Tom (Enid) Frette of Omaha, Neb.; one sister, Sophie Mikelson of Ames; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Marie Hovick and Valgred Swenson; and one brother, Ole G. Olson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
