Former Resident Dies in Missouri

Haldor M. Barnes, the second oldest son of the late George H. and Sarah B. Barnes, passed away in the hospital at Cole Camp, Mo. early morning of June 29, 1976 after a long illness.

Born in Polk County, near Alleman Aug. 17, 1902, he attended the Alleman School. As a young man, Mr. Barnes farmed and did other work in Alleman and other communities. He was united in marriage to Gladys Tweedt of Huxley. They lived in Elkhart and in the Huxley vicinity, later moving to northern Iowa and a time in southern Minnesota. They purchased a farm and moved to Cole Camp, Mo., in early 1948 where they have since lived.

Barnes is survived by his wife Gladys, five sons and three daughters: David Barnes of Cole Camp, Mo., Haldor Barnes, Jr. and Dennis Barnes of rural Cole Camp, Mrs. Arthur (Geraldine) Heinsoth of Coral Springs, Fla., Mrs. Lewis (June Marie) Leuckart of Parkville, Mo., James Barnes of fural Mora, Mo., Mrs. Ken (Annette) Heimsoth of Sedalia, Mo.; four sisters and one brother: Mrs. Emma Lande of Wheaton, Minn., Mrs. Anna Hovland of Kiester, Minn., Mrs. Taletta Lande of Janesville, Minn., Mrs. Bertha Peterson of Polk City and George Barnes of near Alleman.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother: Mrs. Georgia Lodden, Mrs. A. J. (Dora) Opdahl, Mrs. Marie Adams and Peter W. Barnes.
