DEATHS

CORA J. RYAN

Cora J. Ryan, 93, of Slater IA, died Monday, Sept. 5, 1988, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines IA.

She was born April 6, 1895, at Huxley IA to Lewis and Sadie (Anfinson) Fatland.

She was married to Knudt Ryan. He died in 1963.

Mrs. Ryan lived in the Slater area all her life. For the past five years she had been a resident of the Madrid Home for the Aging in Madrid IA.

Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 9, at 10:30 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater with Rev. Craig Ause officiating.

Visitation was held Thursday, Sept. 8, after 3 p.m. at Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home in Slater. The family was present from 7 to 8 p.m.

Mrs. Ryan's survivors include two sons, Edward Ryan of Ankeny IA and LaVerne "Bernie" Ryan of Nevada IA; one daughter, Dorothy McLaughlin of Ortonville MN; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a sister, Hilda Hanson of Huxley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
