From The Slater News August 5, 1892 (Page 5)
A very sad accident occurred at the home of Mr. Rasmus Idso, four miles north-west of town. last Thursday, which resulted in the death of Mr. Idso's wife. The lady had gone out to sit in a cart, which stood under a shed, and which became over-balanced by her weight. She fell to the ground in such a manner as to break her arm near the wrist. A surgeon was immediately summoned, who set the arm, and it was thought that the patient would get along all right. On Tuesday, however, blood-poisoning set in, and the children, the most of whom live in Marshalltown, were sent for, and arrived an hour before their mother's death. The funeral services were held at Randall church, the following day, by Rev. Svingen. The deceased was 57 years, 7 months and 15 days old, had been married over 33 years and leaves a husband and 8 children, three of whom are married. Five of the children resides in Marshalltown, but are well known here, and the sympathy of all their friends will be with the bereaved family in their sad affliction.--Story City Herald.
