Mrs. J. M. Hokel Dies at Hampton
Mrs. J. M. Hokel of Hampton, Ia., passed away at her home on Sunday, June 30. She had been in failing health the past three years, following a heart attack.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 3, at the Vogel Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Woodstock, pastor of the Church of Christ, officiating. Interment was in the Palestine Cemetery at Huxley.
Mrs. Anna Marie Hokel was born Oct. 9, 1889 in Sheldahl, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Knute Austin. On Dec. 10, 1912 she was married to Joseph M. Hokel at Clarion.
She is survived by her husband, two sons, Kermit B. Hokel of Hampton and Meryl A. Hokel of West Union; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Faller of Garden Grove, Calif. and Mrs. Clinton Meyer of Alden. Also surviving is one brother, O. K. Austin of Madrid and one sister, Mrs. Nora Hokel of Des Moines; sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son and a daughter and a sister.
Mrs. Hokel was a member of the order of Eastern Star and Rebekah Lodge.
