Morris Alleman, 81, Died Very Suddenly
Services were held yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon for Morris W. Alleman, 81, well known farmer of the Alleman community.
Mr. Alleman passed away at his home Sunday afternoon. His passing was a distinct shock to his family and friends.
A prayer service was held at the Riis Funeral Home at 1 p. m. Services at the Salem Evangelical and Reformed Church were held at 2 o'clock. The Rev. A. H. Bausch, pastor of the church, was in charge of both services.
Carl Ringgenberg was soloist and sang "Sunrise Tomorrow" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere."
Mrs. Raymond Williams, a niece, was the organist.
Pallbearers were Irvin Alleman, Wilbur Alleman, Merville Alleman, Roy Fausch, John Alleman and Vinol Alleman. Honorary pallbearers were Alfred Alleman, William Buche, Leslie Alleman, Orville Alleman, Lawrence Fausch and Henry Buche.
Interment was in the Lincoln Cemetery.
Obituary
Morris William Alleman, son of John L. and Mary Alleman, was born at Crocker, Ia. on June 19, 1876, one of a family of 11 children. He was baptized, confirmed and a faithful member of the Evangelical and Reformed Church as long as his health permitted. Mr. Alleman had lived his entire life-time in this community where he was a prominent and well-known farmer.
He was married to Miss Harriet Graeber on Feb. 1, 1900 and in 1950 the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
Mr. Alleman departed from this life on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 1, at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 13 days.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lovine; his parents, John L. and Mary Ringgenberg Alleman; six brothers, Samuel, Albinus, David, George, Edward and Charles; and one sister Amelia.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Harriet; two daughters, Mrs. Jacob (Leva) Muehlenthaler and Mrs. Wm. (Della) Blize; one son, Delmar Alleman, at home; two grandsons, Morris Jacob Muehlenthaler and Harold Alleman Blize; two brothers, Albert Alleman of Slater and Roy Alleman of Alleman; one sister, Mrs. Ida Upchurch of Des Moines, and many other relatives and friends.
Mr. Alleman was a kindly man of good judgment, a good father and a good helpful neighbor. He loved the things of nature that the Greater Power made wo beautiful, along with a full family life.
