Services Held for Jonas E. Travase
Services for Jonas E. Travase, 77, of Huxley were held Monday afternoon in the Fjeldberg Lutheran Church at Huxley.
Rev. Harold Rye of Des Moines was in charge of the services.
Pallbearers were LeRoy Anderson, Val Racek, Harvey Tesdall, Ira Hendricks, Clarence Hill and John Olson.
Interment was in the Fjeldberg Cemetery near Huxley.
Obituary
Jonas Travase was born on Aug. 7, 1890 at Story City. His parents were Jonas and Anna Travase. he was baptized and confirmed at Story City.
His father died when he was 11 months old and he moved to Des Moines with his mother when he was 16 years old.
He was a veteran of World War I.
On Mar. 15, 1930 he was united in marriage to Sadie Weeks. They made their home in Des Moines where he was a buttermaker until 1934 when they moved to Huxley where they lived until his death on Aug. 11, 1967.
Mr. Travase was an active member of the Fjeldberg Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one half-brother and three half-sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Sadie, one half-sister and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
