Mt. Zion and Vicinity. Several from this vicinity attended the funeral of the late Mr. Harrison, of the vicinity of Cambridge.THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, March 1, 1894, page 1, column 4. OBITUARY The funeral of H. J. Harrison of Union Tp., took place on Sabbath last at 1 p.m. in the M. E. church, Cambridge. Mr. H. died at his home on Saturday morning after an illness of less than one week. The Odd Fellows had charge of the funeral, but the Red Men were also in the procession, as he belonged to both orders. Over twenty of the Odd Fellows from Maxwell were in attendance. Soon after noon a long line of Odd Fellows and Red Men marched from I. O. O. F. hall, out across the river, under the leadership of J. G. Wells, as Marshal, and met the remains, and escorted them to the church. Many could not even find standing room in the house, but fortunately the day was pleasant, and it was not so unpleasant for those who had to remain out side. Rev. Andersen conducted the music and other exercises, and Rev. Ferguson of this place preached the sermon. The beautiful ritual service of the Odd Fellows was then read in a very impressive manner by J. W. Maxwell, of this place, Rev. Ferguson, performing the duties of Chaplain, after which the remains were taken to the cemetery and laid to rest, with closing ceremonies. Mr. H. was a large hearted, noble man, and loved by every one who knew him. He leaves a wife and eleven children. His age was 48 years, 3 months and 10 days.
