The Death of Ole Lakaas.

The death of Ole Lakaas occurred on Friday afternoon, July 23d, 1897 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Yttrevold, living four miles east of Slater.

Deceased was born in Aardal, Norway on April 3rd, 1820 and had reached at the time of his death the age of 77 years, 3 months and 20 days. He came to America over thirty years ago and settled down on the farm where he died which he owned for a long time. He was married in Norway and his wife died about two years ago. Five children are left to mourn his departure, namely: Mrs. Ole Yttrevold, Mrs. A. Anderson, Des Moines; and three sons, Ole, Tom and Peter Lackous who now reside in the Black Hills, So. Dak. The funeral was held Sunday forenoon from the house, Rev. Thvedt conducted the services and his earthly remains were laid to rest in the cemetery north of the Fjeldberg church.
