OBITUARY

(Contributed.)
Phenie Jennete Derby was born in Crawford county, Pennsylvania, July 27, 1857. During her childhood days her parents moved to Will county, Illinois, where she grew to womanhood.

On March 22nd, 1878, she was united in marriage to William K. Robins, at Wheatland, Illinois. To this union were born two children, Alfred M., and Verna Buche, both of whom live at Slater. In the year 1884 they moved to Cherokee, Iowa, where they resided till 1892, when they moved to Slater, Iowa, where they have since resided with the exception of one year, 1913, which they spent in the west.

She was converted at the age of eighteen and joined the Methodist church at Plainfield, Illinois. On moving to Slater she joined the Congregational church and when that church disbanded and the Methodist church organized she joined the Methodist church of which she was a member at the time of her death.

In the year 1893 she was sanctified and soon afterwards joined the Iowa Holiness Association and remained a faithful member until the Lord said, "Come up Higher."

She belonged to the Women's Christian Temperance Union for years and at the time of her death was president of the society. She was always a faithful, zealous worker and an inspiration to the other members. She lived a pure, holy life, her one aim and ambition being to win souls for Christ.

Today she is praising God in the City of Gold with the loved ones gone before and is shouting hallelujah with the blood bought souls around the great white throne where there is no more sickness, sorrow, pain or death.
