Hussong
Calvin Hussong, aged 82, a member of the Iowa Soldiers Home, died this morning at 1 o'clock at the hospital, after an extended illness of Bright's disease. Mr. Hussong came to the home on April 18, last, from Ames, being at that time near the end after his long illness. He was a native of Knox county, Tennessee, and served as an Iowa Soldier, as a member of Company A, Twenty-third infantry. He enlisted at Ames August 10, 1862, and was discharged April 18, 1864, at New Orleans. Mr. Hussong was a widower, but is survived by six children, Mrs. Melissa A. Deal of Ames; Mrs. Henrietta Pruett of Rosco, Mos.; John H. Hussong of Britt; Mrs. Josephone Conway of Corwithy; Samual N. Hussong of Ames; and Sherman T. Hussong of Corwith. The children at Ames have been informed of their father's death and the funeral arrangements are withheld pending an answer as the the desire of the relatives as to the disposition of the body. --Tuesday Times-Republican
