Nancy Vanscoy was born in Ohio on March 12, 1827. She came with her family to Illinois and about twenty years ago removed to Iowa. She was married to N. B. Thompson March 9, 1890. She united with the U. B. church some fifteen years ago. Moving into Kelley, Iowa in March 1908, she has since, when able, been in attendance at the Baptist church at that place. The deceased was 77 years of age at the time of her death. Funeral services were held in the church on Wednesday, April 20, conducted by Rev. S. H. Michell, of Ames, and interment was in the family lot in Walnut Grove cemetery.
