James Franklin McColly was born in Boone county, Iowa, February 23, 18880 and died March 6, 1904, at the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Josiah McColly who live south of Ames. He was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Christofferson, October 9, 1 901 by the Rev. Bosserman. Two children Howard and Edwin were born to them. The deceased united with the M. E. church during the pasturage of Rev. D. L. Thomas. He last hours were brightened by his unshook faith in Christ and his hope of heaven. His parents, five brothers and four sisters together with the bereaved widow and two children survive him. The funeral services were held in the Dunkard church, the sermon being preached by Rev. A. M. Shea of this city after which amid the tears of the living and the songs of the angels all that was mortal of our departed brother was placed in the adjoining cemetery.
