James Harry McCune
James Harry McCune, son of Hugh and Mary McCune, was born at St. Catherine, Canada, Jan. 2nd 1861. He died near Ames, Iowa, Feb. 20th 1904, aged 43 years, 1 month and 18 days. He leaves behind a sorrowing wife and little daughter, also one sister and three brothers. His parents died when he was a babe, his father who was a soldier having been killed in a battle of the civil war. The deceased was by occupation a railroad laborer and had been in the employ of different companies for more that 25 years. He was married to Miss Anna Glenn at Boone, Iowa, July 6th 1899. To them was born a little daughter Mary, their only child, now almost three years of age. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Ferrall of the Christian church at the home on Burnett street Monday, Feb. 22 at 2 o'clock p.m. The interment was made in the original Ames cemetery. Mr. McCune was by nature kind in his home and obliging to his friends. He has gone to meet the Great Judge of nations and of individuals.
