Jon Adams, age 55, of 627 Harrison Street in Boone, died September 8, 2005 of cancer at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. His body has been cremated and a memorial service was held Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel in Boone. Disposition of his cremains will be held at a later date.
Jon was born in Boone on November 19, 1949 the son of Floyd and Genevieve (Wilson) Adams. He graduated from Boone High School in 1968. Jon married Sharyn Thompson in 1969. The couple later divorced. He married Lynn (Belluci) Brensel August 20, 1994 in Boone. Jon was employed for Fareway Stores, Inc. for 30 years. He worked at stores in Boone, Maquoketa, Eagle Grove, Ft. Dodge, Ottumwa, and Nevada. Jon was manager of the Fareway Store in Nevada for 14 years before his retirement in 1994. Currently, he was comptroller for Belluci Pizza House in Boone.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Jim Belluci. He is survived by his wife, Lynn Belluci-Adams of Boone; a son, Ryan Jon Adams and companion, Christine Sci of Jacksonville, Florida; a daughter, Julie McGee and husband, Kevin and a granddaughter, Sophia Elizabeth McGee, all of Oak Harbor, Washington; a stepson, Chad Brensel of Boone; a brother, Larry Adams of Boone; his mother-in-law, Lorraine Belluci and a sister-in-law, Kristine Fisher and husband, Dalton all of Boone; two aunts, Effie Anderson and husband, Glen of Ames and Virginia Smith and husband, Robert of Cullman, Alabama; and several cousins.
Friends called at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth & Marshall in Boone on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. where the family was present.
Memorials may be given to the Boone Area Humane Society.
