OBITUARY.

Ben B. Ersland was born in Skjold, Norway March 19, 1847, and died at his home northwest from Thor, in Humboldt county, Dec. 10, 1896. Deceased immigrated to America when a young man and for many years he made his home southeast of Slater. He moved up to Humboldt county, where bought a farm on which he has been farming up to his death. He was married to Miss Maria Michelson in Des Moines, in 1886 and to this union there were born five children, whom with their mother and his sister and brothers are mourning the death of a kind father, husband and brother. The cause of his death was lung fever, and was sick only nine days.
