Obituary of Mrs. Quackenbusch.

AMES, March 13.--Mrs. Ellen Lobdell was born in Buffalo, N. Y., Feb 11, 1837 and died at the late home of her daughter Mrs. S. E. Hiestand, March 9, 1907. She was married to Mr. I. G. Quackenbusch near Buffalo and to this union ten children were born. The family moved from New York to Iowa in an early day and have since resided in Story and Boone counties with the exception of of a few years spent in the south. Mr. and Mrs. Quackenbusch were among the early residents of Nevada and the family made their home there for many years. The past few years, since the death of her husband, Mrs. Quackenbusch has spent much of her time at Ames and in this vicinity. She was a member of the Baptist church of this city with which she united in February 1906, and was a most interested and faithful member till the time of her death. The end came as she had wished quickly but peacefully. Five children survive the mother being Mrs. S. E. Heistand and Mrs. L. Hiestand of this city, Mrs. Frank Lockwood of Bellingham, Wash., Mrs. Marion Quimby [should be Quigley] of Hubbard, Ia., and Marion Quackenbusch of California.The funeral was held at the Baptist church at Ames, Monday at 2 p.m., Rev. Walter I. Fowler officiating.
