DEATHS
VELVA BOYLE
Graveside services were held on Saturday morning, Sept. 9, 1972 at the Cambridge Cemetery for Velva Ryan Boyle Rev. Overhulser of the United Methodist Church in Ames officiated.
Mrs. Boyle died following strokes in the hospital at Canoga Park, Calif. on Tuesday, Sept. 5.
The daughter of Daniel and Clementine Ryan, she was born at Coon Rapids, Iowa on June 21, 1887. When several months old she came with her family to Cambridge, Iowa. She attended and graduated from Cambridge School and taught school for many years in this area.
On March 17, 1914, she was married to Ralph Boyle at Cambridge. They lived in Indianola, Iowa where her husband was District Engineer for Iowa State Highway Commission. They later moved to Ames. When her retired several years ago, they moved to Canoga Park, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Orval, Orie, Wilbur and Willie Ryan and two sisters, Muriel and Blanche.
Survivors are her husband Ralph, one son Robert of Canoga Park, Calif. and one sister Tesse Hanson of Ames.
