OBITUARY
James Myers
James Myers was born in Spring Grove, Wisconsin, May 20, 1848 and died at his home near Colo, Iowa, June 21, 1911 being 63 years, 1 month and 1 day old at the time of his death.
Mr. Myers was married to Miss Ellen Dixon September 18, 1870, and to this union were born two children whom both were living at the time of their father's death, one being Mrs. Ruella Harrison of Nevada, and the other Chester who is still residing under the parental roof and will be a great comfort to the sorely bereft mother and wife.
Mr. Myers is on of a family of ten, nine of whom are boys and one girl. Four of the brothers and the sister were at the funeral of the deceased. He was apparently in good health until about ten days before his death when he was back in his old home in Wisconsin. He was there taken with heart trouble and on returning home took worse and on lived but a couple of days.
Mr. Myers moved from Wisconsin to Story county in the year 1876 and has since made his home in this county, having purchased his present home just three years ago. He was a benevolent and indulgent husband and as a business man he was highly esteemed by his associates. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge who were in attendance at the funeral. The funeral was conducted from the home in charge of S. H. Streydeller and interment took place in the Nevada cemetery.
