Services for Hazel Guge set August 21

NEVADA -- Services for Mrs. Guy (Hazel) Guge at 1210 7th Street in Nevada, will be held from Ryan Funeral Home on Thursday, Aug. 21 at 2 p.m. Rev. Robert Baker will officiate with burial in the Woodland Cemetery at Iowa Center.

Mrs. Guge died Tuesday morning at the Story County Hospital after a three month illness. She was 81.

Born January 2, 1894 at Corydon, Ind. to Phillip and Lucinda Zenor, she had been a Nevada resident for the past 47 years. She married Guy Guge on Sept. 4, 1923 at Independence, Mo. She was a member of the Baptist Church and the Royal Neighbors.

Survivors include her husband, Guy; two sons: Eldon L. Guge of Ames and John W. Turner of Boulder City, Nevada; one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Alice) Baldus of Nevada; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two sisters: Mrs. Anna James of Pico Rivera, Calif. and Mrs. Opal Flannagan of Independence, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and four brothers.
