Mike Berhow of Cambridge Dead; Funeral Thursday

Cambridge, Sept. 28--Funeral services for Mike Berhow, 63, longtime restaurant man of Cambridge who died at the Iowa Lutheran hospital in Des Moines Tuesday, will be held from the Cambridge Lutheran church on Thursday at 1:30, with Rev. Peder Buland in charge. The body is now at the Cooper Funeral home in Maxwell.

Mr. Berhow, a native of Norway where he was born September 16, 1875, has been a resident of this community since 1895. He had been engaged in the restaurant business here since 1909, as well as being connected with other local business activities.

He leaves his wife, [step]daughters Mrs. Margaret Johnson of Ames and Mrs. Dorothy Miller of Creston, a brother Ole Berhow of Cambridge and a sister in Norway.

He had been ill for the past year suffering from heart trouble and had been in the hospital since Wednesday of last week.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Margaret and Dorothy were step daughters of Michel Berhow born ca. 1910 and 1912 respectively. Michael Berhow married Tillie Hillestad Kanedy on 25 June 1918 in Emmet County, Iowa. Tille, whose maiden name was Hillestad, was apparently first married to a Mr. Kennedy/Kanedy/Canedy.
