Funeral Services Held at Zearing for Mrs. Ida Dool

Special to the Journal:
Zearing, Dec. 30--Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Dool were held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Brouhard Funeral home in Zearing. Rev. George Biersborn of Liscomb was in charge. Music was furnished by Mrs. Orpha Hankins and Mrs. Myrtle Martin who sang two vocal selections accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Leta Bailey. The many beautiful flowers were cared for by Mrs. Clara Clatterbuck and Mrs. Ella Brouhard. The pall bearers were I. S. Madison, James Ruxton, W. C. Young, M. E. Dakin, H. C. Kurth and Floyd Moon. Burial was in Zearing cemetery.

Ida M. Dool was born at Bishop Mills, Ontario, Canada, Aug. 12, 1858, and departed this life Dec. 21, 1938, at her home in Zearing, Iowa, at the age of 80 yeas, 4 months and 9 days.

At the age of 15 years she came to Iowa with her parents, MR. and Mrs. Cyrus Bishop and settled on a farm 2 miles south of Colo, Iowa.

On October 3, 1883, she was united in marriage to Robert A. Dool. This union being blessed with five children, Mervyn who departed this life in infancy.

Her surviving family are Mrs. Mary Gardiner and Omar Dool of Zearing, Iowa, Mrs. Nettie White and Tom Dool of Minneapolis, Minn., a brother, C. E. Bishop of Des Moines, a sister, Miss Laura Bishop of Colo and four grandchildren of Minneapolis, Minn.

She was a charter member of the Zearing unit of the American Legion Auxiliary and took keen interest in the activities of that organization, she missed but twelve meetings during the seventeen years of membership.

In her early life she affiliated with the Methodist church. Mrs. Dool was a most charitable woman but always kept such activities to her self and was much beloved by not only her family, but by a wide circle of friends. The community has lost one of its early pioneers and the bereaved a loving mother.

Edick and Mrs. Elmer Boeke of Hubbard; Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Morris, Mrs. Ross Morris and Mrs. John Morris of McCallsburg; Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Weir, Mr. Frank Weir and son, Raymond and Max, Mrs. Chas. Kirby and Mrs. Oscar Tripp of Colo..
